Great question and thank you for your post. In my opinion networking is evolving to match the evolution in IT. Data science plays a huge part in how we can manipulate data, but the demands of our infrastructure has changed so much. Many organizations are using BYOD and allowing guest wifi connections that need to provide top performance to their partners. Just look at what Cisco is doing with SD-WAN. Whatever you decide to do degree wise I believe you can't go wrong with learning Python. Lately, I have used it daily as a Network Engineer. From updating SNMP, to pulling stats for reports, to updating configs and more. The possibilities are endless when you learn to automate. Thanks again for this great post! Du'An
